liberty & justice for all (including animals)

liberty & justice for all (including animals)

We are so thrilled to be able to support those giving a voice to those that don't have one - animals. Well, they have a voice, just sounds a bit different from us.

However, we are the same in many ways. We share the same Earth. We care about friends and family. We come from different backgrounds. We all look different, sound different, but we all have rights. It is one of the things we fight for in this country everyday. Why shouldn't animals be afforded rights as well?

As a company we strive to go beyond the scope of the monthly t-shirts and have as much positive direct impact on each cause. So, we are SO EXCITED to share  that starsoul has adopted an elephant with The Elephant Sanctuary. They are the nation's largest natural habitat refuge developed specifically for African and Asian elephants retired from performance and exhibition.

It was difficult to choose, but we ultimately went with MINNIE. Being a Disney-loving family, naturally, it just felt right.

Minnie was born in Asia in 1966. She was taken from the wild and exported to North America that same year. She would spend the next 17 years as the sole elephant at a private wild animal farm. In 1980, she was purchased by Circus Vargas and her name was changed from Talli to Minnie. After many travels with the circus, she was then sold to the Hawthorn Corporation and leased for use in various circuses and performing exhibitions.

As a result of USDA prosecutions against the Hawthorn Corporation for violations of the Animal Welfare Act for inadequate care and mistreatment of its elephants, Minnie and ten other Hawthorn elephants were transferred to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.

We are so grateful to share this news with all of you and most of all our subscribers, who are now all foster parents to our beloved Minnie. We will share updates as we receive them on our social media
