Our co-founder Julio Villarreal is a former U.S. Marine and a part of Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster relief nonprofit, serving global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises. Our family is Florida-based and has felt the devastation caused by hurricanes, especially after Category 5 Andrew, one of the most powerful hurricanes in history. Nobody wants to be on this side of history, the catastrophic flooding from hurricane Helene will take a long time to recover, and Milton is only further exacerbating the devastation.
